About The Position

Applied Technology and Management (ATM) a Geosyntec Company, is looking for a Waterfront Engineering Project Manager in Mount Pleasant, SC, you will have the opportunity to apply your experience and academic knowledge to real-world situations while solving our clients’ waterfront development and coastal engineering challenges, while also learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in the waterfront or coastal engineering field, with experience developing complex and innovative solutions in areas of consulting, planning, and design. The position may be based out of any of our locations in South Carolina (Mt. Pleasant) or Florida (West Palm Beach, St. Augustine, Melbourne Beach). Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in coastal/ocean engineering, civil engineering, or closely related field (required)
  • 5 years experience (7+ years preferred) in a related engineering field or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Outstanding communication skills, with a specific focus on business/technical writing.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD (Civil 3D) and/or GIS (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in engineering, business, or related field (preferred)
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, Professional Engineer (PE) (preferred)
  • General knowledge of surveying and surveying principles (preferred)
  • Valid passport (or eligibility obtain) and ability/willingness to travel internationally to support waterfront project work. (preferred)
  • Boating experience. (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking the planning, analysis, permitting, design, and inspection of waterfront development projects including marinas, marine and coastal structures, waterfront infrastructure, shoreline protection and stabilization, navigable waters, dredging, and related projects.
  • Generating and recognizing cost-effective and constructible technical solutions to engineering challenges
  • Writing feasibility studies, technical reports, and construction specifications
  • Managing the production of engineering plans and drawings
  • Performing engineering calculations and critical reviews of technical reports
  • Inspecting and supervising onsite works during construction phases of marinas and waterfront development projects
  • Managing and controlling project budgets, programs, resources, and quality of production
  • Develop proposals in response to RFPs, including build-up of project budgets, programs, and scopes of work
  • Interfacing and communicating directly with clients, regulators, contractors, and team members.
