Reporting to the Facilities Director, this role performs basic carpentry, plumbing, ground, ice rink maintenance, and repair of boats. Buildings and Grounds Perform a variety of work, as assigned, in the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds at various facilities/sites, including carpentry, plumbing, and painting tasks Repair and treat structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, and carpets Perform minor troubleshooting Report mechanical malfunctions to the appropriate party for attention Identify projects requiring the services of a more highly skilled crafter person Repair door hinges, clean plugged key slots Make repairs and adjustments to doors and door hardware, cabinets, desks, and closets Responsible for snow shoveling, plowing, and other equipment operations on a rotating schedule, including weekends and other hours not regularly scheduled, as needed Assist grounds crew in various tasks, including lining of athletic fields, fall clean up, etc Assist with rink management, including driving the Zamboni, closing the rink, and ensuring the rink is in safe operational condition. Be available as needed for all school events and functions, including but not limited to: Orientation Weekend, Family Weekend, Alumni Weekend, and Commencement. Move/assist with moving furniture and equipment on campus Set up/break down of campus equipment activate and deactivate building alarms, and respond to alarm calls during and after regular work hours Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work sites. Ensure appropriate paperwork is completed and submitted promptly Maintain the security of all equipment and supplies Follow school safety policies and procedures. Responsible for Buildings and Grounds duty assignment on a rotating schedule with other department employees (This requirement includes but is not limited to being on call via cell phone from Friday, 3:30 PM to Monday at 7:00 AM. Waterfront duties: Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the Pinckney Boathouse basement Maintain the cleanliness of the general waterfront activities area (mooring field, lagoon, beach) Maintain and monitor the condition of boats and equipment; keep accurate repair records through the Maintenance Word Order system Set up, maintain/inspect, and monitor moorings Update the mooring field map with the accurate location of moorings and obstructions Maintain parts and materials inventory to support the timely repair of minor equipment damage Coordinate seasonal opening and securing of the waterfront with athletics and summer program staff Other duties as requested for the success of the Maintenance departments.
