The Watercraft Inspector position serves to inspect, inform and educate the public to the threats of ecologically harmful aquatic invasive species to Minnesota’s waters. Inspectors will complete training of MN DNR protocols, and will be authorized to enforce MN State Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) laws while performing thorough inspections on all incoming or outgoing watercraft at multiple lakes in the Prior Lake Spring Lake Watershed District. Shift locations will be primarily at the Upper Prior Lake, Lower Prior Lake, and Spring Lake launch sites. Inspectors will work at public water access sites conducting a brief survey while inspecting watercraft for invasive species. Other duties include assisting boaters, sharing educational materials at access sites, invasive species removal, and other natural resource projects. Part-Time Positions: May through September. Shifts are primarily on weekends (Fri - Sun) and holidays This is a great summer job for students, teachers, and ages 55+!
