About The Position

The Water/Wastewater Technician I, II or III is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining water and wastewater sanitation facilities. This role involves working with heavy equipment and ensuring compliance with appropriate standards and specifications for sanitation facilities.

Requirements

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or six (6) months related experience.
• An additional six (6) months experience is required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of heavy equipment operation.
• Familiarity with water and wastewater construction materials and techniques.
• Ability to use a transit and laser level.

Responsibilities

• Installs on-site wastewater systems in accordance with appropriate standards and specifications.
• Installs water service lines from water source to home.
• Assists in the layout of sanitation facilities.
• Assists in the transportation of heavy equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, skid steer loaders, backhoe attachments, and dump trucks to install water and sanitation facilities.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance of assigned equipment.
• Repairs existing water and sanitation facilities as needed.
• Assists in the removal, transportation, and disposal of septage from onsite wastewater systems.
