About The Position

Wilson & Company is seeking a part-time registered civil engineer with a minimum of 20 years of experience in the municipal utilities to be a Senior Engineer and Project Specialist for sustainable design of municipal infrastructure projects involving the treatment and supply of potable water, as well as the treatment and disposal of wastewater and sewage. The Senior Engineer/Project Specialist will assist in the operations, project management oversight, and QA/QC review functions of the Water/Wastewater Sector. Requirements

  • High level of confidence and strong work ethic, with proven teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
  • Inherent high degree of interpersonal and effective communication skills.
  • Desire to mentor, develop and work with younger professionals.
  • Competence to lead multi-disciplinary teams and involvement in a wide range of projects.
  • Ability to develop and manage relationships with private and public clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in municipal water infrastructure design.

Responsibilities

  • Provide monitoring and oversight of business practices for the Sector, including contract reviews, scope/fee reviews, accounting setups, and PMP reviews.
  • Assist and guide Project Managers with invoicing, progress tracking, earned value reporting, resource allocation, and other PM responsibilities.
  • Provide quality assurance / quality control reviews of engineering work products including reports, technical memoranda, design drawings, and other technical submittals.
  • Collaborate with the Sector leadership to improve business practices and operational controls.
  • Assist in organizing business development efforts for all regions in the Sector.
