About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our team in Chicago, supporting exciting projects that improve community infrastructure. The qualified applicant will have experience in water/wastewater engineering and construction management principles, and will be familiar with the design, construction, and operation of municipal water and/or wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Technical design of projects associated with municipal water / wastewater / drainage infrastructure improvements. Providing specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise. Participating in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables. Developing construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects. Performing quality control review of design calculations or drawings. Preparing technical specification sections. Providing input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements. Providing guidance and mentoring to entry-level engineers.

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Nice To Haves

  • EIT with plans to pursue a PE
  • 4+ years of relevant water infrastructure design experience
  • Previous experience with AutoCAD.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a team environment
