About The Position

We are seeking a Water / Wastewater Operator-in-Training for assignment in Farmington, New Mexico. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the operations and maintenance of a water/wastewater treatment plant on an assigned shift. Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm This position has a pay rate of $22.95/hr

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
A valid Drivers License
Familiarity with hand and power tools

Responsibilities

Operates treatment facility to control flow and processing of water/wastewater, sludge and effluent
Reports operating problems to lead operator or supervisor and performs directed corrective action during assigned shift
Monitors gauges, meters, and control panels
Observes and reports abnormalities of certified operator
After training, operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control
After training, starts and stops pumps, engines and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processes
Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings
Leans and gains skill in a variety of equipment maintenance, servicing, and operating tasks
Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties
Takes and records reading produced from the operation of equipment
Learns to take samples and perform routine process laboratory tests and analysis under supervision of certified operator
Travel between work locations is required
Performs other as required
