About The Position

The Water/Wastewater Operator in Training (OIT) position involves working in the W/WW Operations Department in Arizona. This role is full-time and offers an hourly wage of $16.70 along with excellent benefits. The position requires the operator to achieve Level 1 Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) certifications for Water Operator and Wastewater Operator within two years of employment. A valid driver's license or a CDL Learner's Permit is required, and the operator must obtain a CDL Class 'A' with Hazmat Endorsement within six months of starting the job.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Achieve Level 1 ADEQ certifications for Water Operator and Wastewater Operator within 2 years of employment.
  • Valid Driver's License, CDL Learner's Permit, or CDL Class 'A' with Hazmat Endorsement.
  • Must obtain CDL Class 'A' with Hazmat Endorsement within 6 months from date of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, evaluate, and adjust treatment processes for water treatment.
  • Conduct laboratory analysis for water treatment.
  • Comply with drinking water regulations.
  • Operate and maintain equipment related to water treatment.
  • Perform security, safety, and administrative procedures.
  • Evaluate characteristics of source water.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and adjust disinfection in water distribution.
  • Install and operate equipment in water distribution.
  • Perform maintenance in water distribution.
  • Operate equipment in wastewater collection.
  • Evaluate and maintain equipment in wastewater collection.
  • Maintain and restore the collection system.
  • Maintain lift stations.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and adjust the collection system.
  • Evaluate physical characteristics of the waste stream in wastewater treatment.
  • Perform security, safety, and administrative procedures in wastewater treatment.
  • Evaluate and maintain equipment in wastewater treatment.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and adjust treatment processes in wastewater treatment.
  • Conduct laboratory analysis for wastewater treatment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
