Verdantas is seeking a driven Water and Wastewater Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 at our Littleton, NH location. We’re looking for a talented and inquisitive engineering intern who’s eager to apply their skills in a real-world setting and learn from experienced professionals. This internship offers hands-on exposure to engineering projects that make a tangible impact, along with mentorship from a collaborative team that values innovation and curiosity. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or a related field
  • Completed coursework in hydraulics, environmental engineering, or related fundamentals
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D (coursework or personal experience acceptable)
  • Strong initiative, problem‑solving ability, and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced project environment
  • Good communication skills and comfort working in a hybrid or virtual‑mentor setting
  • Interest in municipal and community-centric projects, sustainable infrastructure, system planning, and community‑focused engineering
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and MS Teams

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing design plans, As-Builts, and technical specifications for water/wastewater system upgrades, site layout, stormwater management, and/or pipe layouts using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft office products
  • Support hydraulic calculations, infrastructure evaluations, data assessments, and the evaluation of preliminary design alternatives
  • Assist with water and/or wastewater planning studies and reports, including data collection and analysis, existing conditions reviews, risk analyses, field observations and measurements, and alternatives analysis
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and permit applications for projects in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine
  • Participate in site visits and assist with condition assessments, field measurements, utility verification, and documenting construction progress.
  • Support other fieldwork activities such as surveying as needed
  • Opportunity to travel to project sites in New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and/or northern New York, if desired
  • Attend internal check‑ins and project meetings, capturing action items and task logs, and tracking time for project billing
  • Perform other engineering related tasks for projects (i.e. designs, drawing, site inspections etc.) under the supervision of senior engineers
