About The Position

WithersRavenel is recruiting a Engineer in Training (EIT) to join the expanding and innovative Utilities (Water/Wastewater) Practice Area! In this role you will support assigned engineers and will be responsible for associated deliverables. This is a hybrid role working within a reasonable driving distance to our Asheville, North Carolina office. We define hybrid work as a work arrangement where employees and supervisors collaborate to establish an in- and out-of-office schedule that 'works' for all involved.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or field of expertise or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 6 years of related experience in field of specialty.
  • Registration as a Professional in the appropriate field of expertise (ex. EI/EIT).
  • Experience in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil3D, Geopak, and/or graphic software experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Execute multiple tasks under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Understand planning and/or design concepts and methods.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to mentor technical staff.
  • Demonstrate personal investment in your career.
  • Energetic, flexible, confident, and forward thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers/Assistant Project Managers with budget and schedule management of technical aspects of projects.
  • Participate in project meetings and subsequent documentation.
  • Review data, analyze information, and determine compliance with standards and design concepts.
  • Lead the creation of preliminary and completed layouts, design concepts, and detailed design drawings.
  • Research and obtain standards/codes required by client and jurisdiction.
  • Calculate and prepare planning and design documents and reports.
  • Initiate quality control processes and follow technical aspects and policies.
  • Analyze technical problems; devise new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutions.
