General Description The Water Truck Driver is responsible for operating a water truck on construction sites to provide necessary water for dust control and other job site needs. This role requires a valid Drivers License and involves daily inspections, safe operation, and coordination with site crews to ensure smooth project execution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid Drivers License required with an acceptable driving record within company MVR policy guidelines.
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Water Truck Driver or related position preferred.
  • Ability to understand work directions and communicate effectively with site supervisors and team members.
  • Frequent standing, bending, and lifting throughout an 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs frequently and up to 150 lbs with assistance.
  • Maintain constant alertness on a busy construction site with multiple ongoing activities.
  • Walk on uneven surfaces in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely climb on and off heavy mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a water truck to provide water for construction site use.
  • Perform daily safety checks and vehicle inspections for leaks and damage.
  • Refuel and maintain the truck in proper working order.
  • Transport construction materials and water as needed.
  • Ensure the vehicle is clean and operational at the end of each shift.
  • Follow proper procedures for startup, shutdown, and lockout.
  • Work closely with other crew members using hand signals for coordination and safety.
  • Communicate professionally with supervisors, teammates, contractors, and vendors.
  • Understand production requirements and follow project instructions.
  • Report any vehicle repair needs to the supervisor.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned within other crafts.
