The person in this position will be required to use electronic laboratory equipment, titration equipment and measuring devices for the analysis of water; hand tools (shovels, picks, brooms, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, electric drills, electric grinders, mops, vacuum cleaner) for repair and maintenance of all treatment plant equipment and buildings; power equipment (pickup truck, lawn mowers, weed trimmers, pumps) for the maintenance and repair of treatment plant, raw water pumping stations, and grounds. Will be required to perform water quality analysis throughout the process of producing potable water, monitor all treatment processes and pumping rate as determined by water quality and consumer demand. Must recognize the need for changes in pumping rate and chemical dosages and be capable of making such changes upon the authorization of a certified operator. Will be required to perform routine maintenance and repairs on all treatment plant equipment, buildings and grounds; repair and test water meters; maintain records of all treatment plant functions and maintenance performed; maintain inventories of supplies and spare parts; verbally correspond with the public, in a knowledgeable and courteous manor, concerning enquiries about water quality and service.
