About The Position

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• For Level II: 2 years of technical training in water treatment and 2-5 years of experience in public sector water distribution and treatment.
• Grade 2 Water Treatment Certification and Grade 2 Water Distribution Certification at the time of hire or promotion.
• For Level III: 4 years of technical training in water treatment and 4 years of experience in water treatment, plus 2 years in public sector water distribution.
• Grade 3 Water Treatment Certification and Grade 3 Water Distribution Certification at the time of hire or promotion.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
• Knowledge of water treatment processes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate the water treatment plant using SCADA systems or manually.
• Conduct minor maintenance on plant equipment and assist maintenance staff.
• Perform laboratory analyses and jar tests to determine chemical dosages.
• Maintain log books, lab reports, and inspection reports.
• Monitor plant operations and processes, ensuring safe handling of treatment chemicals.
• Train new employees in operations and maintenance of water treatment plants.
