About The Position

SUMMARY OF POSITION Associate IV (water treatment operator) assists in the operation and maintenance of water and/or wastewater treatment systems. This role involves monitoring equipment, performing routine tests and sampling, adjusting chemical feeds as instructed, and helping ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
  • 2-4 years of related experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade/Technical certification preferred but not required.
  • Welding experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monitoring water treatment systems such as chemical feed systems, pumps, and related equipment under guidance.
  • Learn to collect and help analyze water samples, read gauges, and report to the supervisor
  • Assist in monitoring and recording water quality readings (pH, chlorine, turbidity, etc.) and report any out-of-range results to supervisors.
  • Use system maps, diagrams, and process flow charts to become familiar with water system operations.
  • Accurately log daily operational data, chemical usage, and water quality results following established procedures.
  • Assist on preventive maintenance activities and basic repairs on equipment, working with experienced team members.
  • Communicate regularly with team members and supervisors regarding system status and work activities.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of alarms, equipment issues, or unusual conditions and follow escalation procedures.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and participate in training and improvement activities.
  • Assist in mixing chemicals according to company guidelines
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Follow assigned priorities and daily work plans that support department goals.
  • Provide courteous service and communicate clearly with customers and team members.
  • Demonstrate basic proficiency in required job skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Show initiative by offering help and completing tasks as assigned.
  • Identify routine issues and report them to appropriate team members; assist with problem-solving efforts.
  • Learn to safely operate job-related machinery and equipment following training and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail.
  • Complete required forms and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Ability to communicate in English; Spanish bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
  • Inform supervisor or team members of issues or concerns promptly.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and software.
  • Attend safety meetings and other departmental or company related meetings as assigned.
  • Participate in all “Lock Out-Tag Out” (LOTO) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) events and trainings.
  • Observe all “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMPs) as specified by the Company’s food safety policy.
