About The Position

The Water Transport Operator plays a critical role in the oil and gas extraction industry by ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of produced water from extraction sites to designated disposal or treatment facilities. This position is essential for maintaining environmental compliance and operational efficiency, as produced water must be handled with care to prevent contamination and adhere to regulatory standards. The hauler will be responsible for monitoring the quality and quantity of water transported, ensuring that all loads are within legal limits and properly documented. Additionally, the role involves regular communication with site managers and environmental teams to coordinate logistics and address any potential issues. Ultimately, the Produced Water Hauler contributes to the sustainability of operations by managing waste responsibly and supporting the overall health of the environment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and hazardous materials handling.
  • Skill in operating and inspecting heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
  • Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Proficiency in completing logs, tickets, and regulatory documentation.
  • Ability to follow routes, read maps, and use GPS effectively.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Attention to safety, environmental compliance, and load securing.
  • Physical ability to perform fieldwork in varying conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with tanker endorsement.
  • Clean driving record and current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport produced water from well sites to designated disposal or treatment facilities using heavy-duty trucks and tractor-trailer combinations.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure mechanical and safety compliance with DOT and company regulations.
  • Accurately complete and maintain required documentation, including water hauling tickets, and regulatory records.
  • Load, unload, and secure liquid cargo following standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with site personnel and environmental teams to ensure timely and efficient water transport operations.
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance and emergency roadside repairs as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety, environmental, and hazardous materials handling procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
