About The Position

The Water Transfer Pump Mechanic is responsible for managing DHI’s pump fleet, overseeing the preventive maintenance program, and performing inspections on pumps. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, managing parts and supply inventory, overseeing third-party repairs, and performing quality inspections during pump package fabrication. The Pump Mechanic will ensure tasks are completed in a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to DHI’s insurance guidelines.
  • 5 years’ experience as a pump package mechanic or package engineer.
  • Knowledge of Scania, John Deere engines, and Cornell and Pioneer pumps.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, diesel engine problems, and hydraulic, centrifugal pump, and vacuum equipment.
  • Ability to follow OEM oil sampling programs.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and precautions related to the oil and gas industry.
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer/laptop systems.
  • Knowledge of manual and power tools.
  • Ability to travel to off-site locations for repairs.
  • Must be able to use battery and charging system test equipment.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random DOT alcohol and drug screenings, background check, road test, and driving record review.
  • Strong organizational and technical skills.
  • Competent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to utilize the ARI Fleet Management Program.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the pump package maintenance program to promote reliability and reduce failures.
  • Oversee parts inventory management, establishing minimum and maximum inventory levels.
  • Monitor and oversee all repairs performed by third-party vendors.
  • Conduct monthly inspections on all pump packages.
  • Perform major repairs when necessary.
  • Report damaged or faulty equipment to management.
  • Schedule and oversee major repairs by third-party vendors when utilized.
  • Clean DHI equipment and tools to ensure reliability and safety.
  • Maintain accountability for tools and supplies on the DHI truck and restock supplies as needed.
  • Complete all required documentation via ARI Garage.
  • Provide training to DHI field operations team.
  • Adhere strictly to DHI policies and procedures.
  • Complete projects and tasks assigned by the Director of Operations and Fleet Manager.
