About The Position

The Lean Water Spider plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of the manufacturing floor by ensuring timely delivery of materials, tools, and information to production teams. This role also involves operating CNC machines to support production activities. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of lean manufacturing principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to operate CNC machinery.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year experience with material handling
  • Minimum of one year experience operating CNC Equipment, power tool equipment
  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents and protected individuals (e.g., certain refugees and asylees)). GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
  • Physical activity required includes bending, reaching, lifting and prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • May lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work overtime including occasional weekend shifts
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and safety shoes

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Water Spider or in a similar role
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to follow written instructions and take verbal instructions for multiple assembly tasks in a manufacturing shop environment
  • Working knowledge of scanning equipment, internal database tracking and computerized systems
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and self-motivation

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines to produce consumable parts for operations according to specified designs and quality standards.
  • Allocates product to appropriate racks and or bin location according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, brand, or product code
  • Ensure that materials are stocked and organized efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Replenish supplies and materials at workstations to keep production flowing smoothly.
  • Assists in the handling of materials and items from receiving area to designated bin locations
  • Assists with execution of weekly cycle counts to ensure inventory integrity
  • Effectively maneuvers through computer system in order to perform specified duties
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles
  • Reports damages and discrepancies to request reimbursement or re-shipment
  • Work closely with production teams and provides regular updates on material status.
