We are seeking a visionary Water Reuse Lead to help shape the future of water reuse across California by driving the strategic growth of our Water Reuse Practice. This leadership role blends technical excellence, client development, and regulatory engagement to deliver innovative recycled water and wastewater solutions that strengthen long-term water reliability and climate resilience throughout the state. Role Accountabilities: As the California Water Reuse Lead, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Arcadis’ water reuse strategy statewide. This senior leadership position is focused on expanding our market presence, leading high-impact recycled water projects, and strengthening relationships with key municipal clients, regulators, and industry partners. You will work collaboratively across Arcadis’ Water Business Line to deliver sustainable, resilient solutions while reinforcing our position as a trusted leader in water reuse.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 10 years of relevant experience in municipal water/wastewater engineering and consulting
  • PE License in California
  • The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in advanced water reuse and recycled water treatment technologies, including disinfection, membrane filtration, reverse osmosis, ozonation, UV advanced oxidation, and corrosion control.
  • You will have a proven track record of managing municipal clients, supporting strategic pursuits, and contributing to winning proposals and interviews.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, with the ability to deliver compelling client presentations and clearly articulate complex technical concepts.
  • Success in this role requires a collaborative leadership style, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for mentoring teams and advancing sustainable water solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement California’s water reuse strategy, including market planning, regulatory engagement, and identification of key pursuit opportunities.
  • Provide technical and project leadership for municipal recycled water and wastewater treatment projects, overseeing delivery from planning and design through construction and implementation.
  • Partner with Area and Account Leaders to support business development efforts, including client engagement, proposal development, scope definition, and fee development.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring successful delivery aligned with budget, schedule, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Serve as a visible leader in the water reuse market by representing Arcadis at industry events, conferences, and professional organizations.
  • Mentor and develop technical staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
  • Travel (as needed) to support client engagement, business development, site visits, and project execution.

  • The salary range for this position is $123,374 - $174,697.
