About The Position

The Water Retrofit Installation Technician is responsible for performing standardized, low-complexity water efficiency retrofit installations in multi-family and light commercial settings. This project-based role focuses on the removal and replacement of water-saving fixtures and components that do not require licensed plumbing services in most jurisdictions. The technician will follow defined procedures to ensure proper component removal, installation, functionality, and customer satisfaction while maintaining compliance with safety and project guidelines. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized installation procedures.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple project sites as required.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in residential and commercial bathroom and kitchen environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in maintenance, installation, handyman services, or retrofit programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Remove existing showerheads and install approved water-efficient showerheads.
  • Shut off water supply to toilets prior to service.
  • Remove and replace toilet flappers, fill valves, and handles in accordance with project specifications.
  • Remove and replace toilet supply lines as needed using pre-approved materials.
  • Remove existing bathroom sink aerators and install approved replacement aerators.
  • Remove existing kitchen sink aerators and install approved replacement aerators.
  • Test all installed components for leaks, proper operation, and water flow after installation.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas before, during, and after installation activities.
  • Accurately report completed work and any site-specific issues to Project Coordinator.
  • Escalate any conditions requiring additional repairs to the Project Coordinator (ex. broken faucet, non-working shutoff, etc.)
  • Interact with residents and on-site staff in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner at all times.
