About The Position

Water Resources Project Manager Role Description: Huitt-Zollars, Inc has full-time opportunity for a Water Resources Project Manager (Eng IV) with more than 10 years of experience in our Dallas office. Experience in the Oklahoma City area is desired. The role will include providing oversight of a diverse range of stormwater projects in addition to managing project budgets, business development, and mentoring staff. The position will include working collaboratively in a team environment providing engineering analysis and design for public works infrastructure and transportation projects. Location: Dallas, Texas Employment Type: 40 FT Hours Compensation Type: Salary Registration(s): Professional Engineer in the state of Texas Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (BSCE)

Requirements

  • Licensed PE in Texas with 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong technical background in hydrology & hydraulics analysis and design.
  • Proven leadership in project management and team collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and client engagement skills.
  • Familiarity with quality systems and business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage water resources projects from planning through delivery, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule compliance.
  • Develop project work plans, assign resources, and monitor performance metrics.
  • Provide drainage design support to other disciplines on multi-sector projects.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and support business development efforts, including proposals and strategic pursuits.
  • Ensure adherence to Huitt-Zollars’ business processes and quality standards.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to their technical and professional development.
  • Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Ensures proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects.
  • Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client).
  • Contributes to successful delivery and performance of projects.
  • Cultivates relationships with clients and holds strong relationships with clients.
  • Understands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process including weekly rhythm.
  • Takes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business or additional opportunities with existing clients and may be responsible for a stated portion of office sales goal. Assists and/or leads team in pursuit of new work (repeat work, SOQ and Proposals). Develops and/or executes project Win strategy.
  • Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations.
  • Actively engages and participates in the training, coaching, and mentoring of junior staff.
  • Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current.
