As a Water Resources Project Engineer at Isthmus Engineering, you will join a talented and growing Water Resources team that collaborates with colleagues, clients, and agencies to efficiently deliver successful transportation-related projects. The responsibilities for the position of Water Resources Project Engineer include: Managing Water Resources tasks by utilizing communication, initiative, and follow through skills. Leveraging engineering knowledge and CADD technology to develop drainage plans and documents for transportation projects that meet project goals and adhere to applicable design standards. Mentoring junior team members and overseeing work of others in the Water Resources group, including design calculations, plan development, and agency design requirements. Technical writing, including memorandums, feasibility studies, applicable permits, and regulatory submittals. Documenting all design work and procedures; assisting with development and organization of documentation from other Water Resources team members. Assisting with project procurement, scoping, and budget development. Evolving innovation, best practices, and efficiency within Water Resources and across Isthmus. Evidencing continued commitment to individual, company, and industry improvement. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience: Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. Registration as a Professional Engineer in Minnesota, or ability to obtain the same within six months. Two or more years of experience in urban and rural drainage and Best Management Practice design (Four or more years of MnDOT experience preferred). Experience with Geopak Drainage and/or OpenRoads Designer, HydroCAD, HY-8, and other related hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, modeling, and design software. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate the following skills: Ability to communicate effectively. Strong time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain productivity in an autonomous environment. Positive team-focused attitude. Compensation and Benefits The anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,000-$105,000/year for a 40-hour base work week. Compensation will be based upon experience, education, skill level, and other factors.
