About The Position

Join the KPFF Lacey team as an experienced, motivated and skilled Project Manager who demonstrates initiative and accountability to successfully coordinate and complete projects. This position will require your expertise with fish passage design, stream and habitat restoration, culvert replacements, and hydrologic and hydraulic analysis. The successful candidate must have at least 9 years' experience in civil engineering, project management and planning and construction. As a key member of our team, you'll not only refine your existing expertise, but also deliver unparalleled client service. You will be an essential part of the design team. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional leadership, time management, and communication skills to pursue, develop, and execute projects. This position provides opportunities to work on a variety of fish passage projects for both public agencies and private owners.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree or higher in Civil Engineering
  • P.E. License in Washington State
  • HEC-RAS and SRH2D
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Knowledge of codes, regulations, and standards applicable to the design and construction of fish passage and stream restoration projects in Washington State
  • Permitting experience with various environmental regulators such as WDFW and USACE
  • Ability to manage multiple active projects concurrently
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaborative skills are essential

  • Proven capability to work dynamically and effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Management and / or design of projects
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Competency, accountability, and personal commitment to deliver quality work to our clients, and to mentor design engineers
  • Ability to apply established engineering principles to solve problems and/or overcome obstacles using sound judgement, independent decision making, and prolonged focus
  • Foster strong client relationships by actively listening to client needs, providing clear communication, and delivering customized solutions that align with their objectives
  • Focus on client satisfaction, possess high-level communication and interpersonal skills with an interest in training, developing, and supporting staff, and have experience working in a cooperative team environment
  • Primary interface with clients on project coordination and design
  • Responsible to technical content and quality control / assurance of accuracy
  • Establish project fees and schedules
  • Track project budget and timing to ensure fulfillment of contract commitments and profitability
  • Provide construction administration support
  • Communicate with design consultants, municipalities, contractors, and clients
  • Ability to conduct site visits and inspections as necessary to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards
