About The Position

The Engineer III - Water Resources Engineer develops extensive knowledge and skills in a specific practice area. This role involves evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks or sequences of tasks for conventional projects with high complexity. The position requires using judgment to adapt methods for non-routine aspects of assignments and leading small projects or portions of larger projects.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Hydrologic and Hydraulic software packages (SWMM, HEC-RAS 2D, HEC-HMS, HY-8) is required
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS and integration of GIS tools into H&H analysis is required
  • Knowledge of rail industry regulations, codes, and standards
  • Ability to work with teams of engineers and designers to successfully deliver project-related deliverables
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers, email, and other software commonly employed to develop presentations and promotional materials
  • Basic oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to exercise discretion in the handling of sensitive and/or confidential materials and information
  • Strong skills in presenting and delivering new concepts and methods
  • Ability to interact effectively with other staff members
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program
  • 3+ years of prior experience in Water resources

  • Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain shortly after joining our team

Responsibilities

  • Lead design tasks or assist with review tasks
  • Prepare portions of project documents or provide markups for reviewed documents
  • Edit or review specifications
  • Conduct research and investigations
  • Work independently on tasks and use discretion to address concerns before contacting the client
  • Represent the company in industry forums and attend professional education programs
  • Other duties as assigned or required to meet business needs
