AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Water Resources Engineer Intern - Spring 2026 to join our Henderson, NV office. AtkinsRéalis is a world-class engineering services and nuclear organization. Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it's like to work in a professional environment and apply what's learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

  • Assist in performing routine engineering work on track to develop professional proficiency
  • Assist in drainage evaluation and design for roadway and development projects
  • Assist in flood assessments for urban and natural environments
  • Support engineers with water resources projects and technical tasks
  • Facilitate communication of design intent through engineering plans and documents for construction
  • Contribute to the compilation of design data and the preparation of construction plans and documents
  • Must have completed 100+ hours towards a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Spring 2026)
  • No experience is generally required if accepted into a Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred)
  • Goal and deadline oriented
  • Self-motivated and willingness to learn
  • Experience with HEC-HMS or HEC-RAS beneficial
  • Interest in drainage design, flood analysis, and hydrologic and hydraulic analyses
