AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Water Resources Civil Engineer Intern – Summer 2026 to join our Denver, CO office. AtkinsRéalis is one of the world’s most respected design, engineering, and project management consultancies. AtkinsRéalis has been providing infrastructure planning, engineering, construction, environmental consulting, urban planning, architecture, and program management services to public and private clients across the United States for more than 50 years. Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

  • Assist in performing routine engineering work on track to develop professional proficiency
  • Support engineers with water resources projects and technical tasks
  • Facilitate communication of design intent through engineering plans and documents for construction
  • Contribute to the compilation of design data and the preparation of construction plans and documents
  • Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026)
  • No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred)
  • Goal and deadline oriented
  • Self-motivated and willingness to learn
  • Experience with HEC-HMS or HEC-RAS beneficial
  • Interest in transportation, infrastructure improvements and servicing our communities
