About The Position

The Water Quality & Treatment Lead is an introductory supervisory role responsible for overseeing a small team dedicated to ensuring the production and protection of high-quality potable and non-potable water. This position involves scheduling, supervising, and training team members in various disciplines such as water treatment, asset management, and laboratory services, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
  • Valid Class 'R' Colorado driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Colorado Water Distribution Operator Level 4 or Colorado Water Operator Class A or RMWQAA 3 preferred.
  • Distribution Level 1 or Treatment Class D certification is preferred.
  • HIPAA training is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data management and quality assurance systems.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to water quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and direct the activities of assigned personnel under general supervision.
  • Supervise and support team training and performance evaluations.
  • Develop onboarding processes and hiring strategies for new employees.
  • Align individual performance expectations with organizational goals and communicate effectively with direct reports.
  • Monitor work to ensure safe and proper work practices are followed.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and various committees to promote teamwork and professional growth.
  • Assist in budget preparation, supply ordering, and vendor communications.
  • Verify team compliance with quality control and assurance programs.
  • Perform on-call duty and emergency response as needed, including working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping duties related to safety, operational logs, and compliance.
