The City of Olathe is seeking a Water Process Operator to join our award-winning Water Production facility. This is a key position that works with a trained team, and independently at times, to perform a variety of skilled computer, laboratory, and field work supporting the production of drinking water for the residents of Olathe. This is an entry level position, prior experience in drinking water operations is not required and on-the-job training is provided. We're looking for someone with experience working effectively in a team setting. If you are organized, have the ability to communicate relevant information verbally and in writing, are analytical, and have a mechanical aptitude, this may be the job for you. A typical day might include collecting water samples and performing lab work, inspecting and documenting plan equipment according to a checklist, and cleaning and maintaining drinking water production facilities. This position is part of a three-level career progression of Water Process Operator I, Water Process Operator II, and Water Control Operator.
