About The Position
The Water Meter Installer at Bermex, Inc. plays a crucial role in the maintenance and measurement of water meters, ensuring accurate readings and efficient service delivery. This position is essential for the Smart Meter Deployment Operations team and reports directly to the Smart Meter Deployment Operations Manager. The installer will be responsible for performing visual inspections of water service for leaks, identifying hazards at meter sites, and changing out water meters and registers of various sizes and brands. The role requires a high degree of walking in outdoor environmental conditions, making it vital for candidates to be physically fit and adaptable to changing weather conditions. In addition to maintenance tasks, the Water Meter Installer will also be responsible for reading water meters and entering the collected data into a handheld computer. Effective communication with customers is a key aspect of this role, as the installer will need to refer consumer complaints to the appropriate authorities and provide general information about meter services when applicable. The position may also involve assisting on additional projects as necessary, showcasing the need for flexibility and a willingness to take on various responsibilities.
