About The Position

Water jet cuts plate to engineering specs. including loading and adjusting cutting parameters to ensure parts are cut with acceptable quality.
Prepares materials for cutting by setting up and securing them on the cutting table.
Loads and executes cutting programs on the machine.
Monitors the cutting process.
Performs routine maintenance on water jet cutting equipment including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
Changes cutting heads and abrasive materials, feeding tubes, etc. as needed.
Identifies and troubleshoots issues with the machine, making adjustments or repairs, as needed.
Performs safety check and records results on daily, weekly check sheets.
Affixes part number sticker to the appropriate part.
Nests parts to assign cut sheets. Imports cut files, sets lead ins and saves.
Demonstrates the Caldwell Company Values in all work activities.
Complies with all safety requirements and maintains a clean and safe work station. Reports defective tools and equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years Water Jet Operator experience (or a similar role).
• Forklift experience
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Proven ability to read a tape measure.
• Proficiency using computerized control systems for water jet cutting.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and communication skills
