About The Position

Tetra Tech is looking for Civil Engineering Interns and Entry-Level Engineers (EITs) who want to make an impact in municipal water infrastructure. Whether your passion is water/wastewater treatment, stormwater management, pipelines, or construction support, you'll gain hands-on experience working alongside industry experts. As part of our team, you'll contribute to projects that ensure safe, reliable water systems for communities - from designing treatment plants and pump stations to developing stormwater solutions and supporting rehabilitation of critical infrastructure. Our interns and EITs have grown into roles such as: Water/Wastewater Project Engineer, Stormwater Engineer, Process Engineer, Civil Designer - Water Infrastructure, Pump Station & Pipeline Engineer, Water Resources Engineer, and Construction Field Engineer / Inspector. With us, you'll see the full life cycle of municipal projects, planning, design, construction, and rehabilitation, while learning from professionals committed to improving and protecting water resources across Texas.

Requirements

  • Pursuing or completed a B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering (municipal water focus preferred)
  • EIT certification (or ability to obtain soon) preferred for new grads
  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in water/wastewater, stormwater, or municipal infrastructure is a plus
  • Strong interest in treatment plants, pipelines, pumping stations, drainage, or water resources
  • Familiarity with design software (Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support treatment plant, pipeline, and stormwater system design using Civil 3D or MicroStation
  • Assist with construction support services, including submittal reviews and field inspections
  • Prepare design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates under guidance of senior engineers
  • Contribute to hydraulic modeling and stormwater analysis for real-world projects
  • Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to solve engineering challenges that impact communities
