Role description: We are currently seeking an engineering intern to join our Water Business Line in our Los Angeles, CA We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. The rate at which we’re seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. Role accountabilities: In this role responsibilities include evaluating, planning, and designing projects for water, wastewater, and stormwater treatment and conveyance which encompasses pipelines and pumping facilities. You will also be responsible for assessing, developing, and supporting the management of sustainability and resilience projects including conducting vulnerability and mitigation assessments, as well as planning and designing utilities, municipalities, and cities. Additionally, you will perform essential fieldwork activities such as conducting field site visits, collecting samples, performing water quality analyses, evaluating technologies, and gathering plant operations information. You will also be involved in troubleshooting processes and optimizing operations. Support for asset management projects by conducting data analytics, operational and organizational assessments, condition assessments, and overall performance evaluations of water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities will also be key components of your position. In addition to the responsibilities mentioned, you will also: Support preparation of reports, presentations, and other audio-visual materials, and participate in client meetings. Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality, health and safety standards, and facilitate coordination for timely completion and submission of projects on time and budget. Work independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to accommodate collaboration with team members across the U.S. and internationally. Learn and use digital tools to enhance customer experience, team and client collaboration, and project delivery including configuration and deployment of SharePoint, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Power BI, and Augmented Reality.
