About The Position

We are seeking a Water Engineering Intern to join our Buildings & Infrastructure - Water team in Portland, OR, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients' challenges locally and worldwide You'll impact the world around you by helping us solve real-life challenges. We'll rely on you to provide support to our public infrastructure team on critical projects while fostering a culture of continuous learning and inclusion as you bring fresh ideas to the table. You'll work alongside local and regional thought leaders, subject matter experts, professional engineers, and designers, gaining exposure to analysis, planning, design, project coordination, research, technical writing, relevant computer-assisted engineering software, data collection and so much more. You will assist our team on water related projects, including but not limited to conveyance and storage, pump stations, and water and wastewater treatment. In this position you will work with a multidisciplinary team taking on a variety of tasks that blend your theoretical knowledge with practical application. This position is for 30 hours per week, with potential for up to 40 hours per week depending on available workload.

Requirements

  • In pursuit of a bachelor's in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering with a focus on Water in an accredited program
  • Must be at least a rising Junior
  • Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future

Nice To Haves

  • 3.0 GPA
  • In pursuit of a master's degree
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management within Jacobs
  • Self-driven time management and organizational skills
  • Have or are working towards an engineer-in-training (EIT) certification
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS Pro

Responsibilities
