Role description: Arcadis is currently seeking an Entry-Level Water Engineer to join our Los Angeles, CA office. Arcadis provides multiple onboarding and development programs created for our young professionals that support professional growth and help drive creativeness, innovation, and greater integration within our local, national and global teams. Role accountabilities: As a Water Engineer, you will be responsible for performing planning studies, design, and field investigations for a variety of water and wastewater projects, including collection systems, transmission and distribution networks, pumping stations, and treatment plants. You will assess, develop, and support the management of sustainability and resilience projects, which may include vulnerability and mitigation assessments, as well as planning and design initiatives for utilities, municipalities, and cities. The position requires you to prepare comprehensive written technical reports, Preliminary Design Reports, evaluation memorandums, spreadsheets, written correspondence, permitting applications, and engaging presentations and audio-visual materials for both internal and external stakeholders. Regular and effective communication with clients, coworkers, subcontractors, and county or agency review staff is essential. You will be expected to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with the adaptability to coordinate with colleagues across the United States and internationally. Managing multiple concurrent projects with varying deadlines, you will be responsible for ensuring all deliverables are completed in alignment with project budgets, client expectations, regulatory requirements, and established timelines.

Requirements

  • Reliable, client-focused, and capable of working successfully both independently under the supervision of project managers as well as within a team.
  • Flexible attitude towards assignments, with the initiative and ability to take on new projects and other challenges regularly.
  • Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water / wastewater / stormwater.
  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity/experience with ArcGIS and/or hydraulic modeling software is ideal but not required.

  • The salary range for this position is $56,798 - $90,877. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
