About The Position

East Cherry Creek Valley Water and Sanitation District (ECCV) has been sustaining our community by providing safe and reliable water since 1962. Sourced from the South Platte River and non-tributary aquifers, ECCV distributes water to approximately 60,000 customers in the eastern portions of the City of Centennial and unincorporated Arapahoe County. The Water Efficiency Technician provides critical support to our mission by performing a variety of responsibilities. We are looking for an individual with a passion for educating and being of service to others. The Water Efficiency Technician assists in administration of the District’s conservation programs and is responsible for the collection and analysis of customer data and customer outreach regarding efficiency and leaks.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of water conservations programs with the aptitude to learn industry specific standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrate with all interactions, a high level of quality customer service; a positive and professional demeanor; the ability to exercise sensitivity; the ability to handle stressful situations in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, critical and analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing; prioritize tasks, make independent decisions, prioritize workload with multiple shifting priorities and interruptions; follow-up, and follow-through on tasks; and meet deadlines.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college course work in environmental science, natural resource management or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes various District software applications and platforms to monitor watering schedule violations, potential leaks, wastewater violations, and open tasks; performs other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Contacts District customers with potential leaks while following leak notification protocols and works with them to meet water efficiency targets and/or resolve leaks.
  • Responds to water waste violations and follows up with the customers as necessary.
  • Manages and administers rebates including acceptance and denial communication, tracking progress, and ensuring compliance.
  • Assists the Water Efficiency Coordinator with planning, scheduling, and administration of the District’s conservation program.
  • Serves as a technical resource for Customer Service Representatives on calls related to more technical water efficiency and conservation questions.
  • Reviews and maintains conservation content on the District’s website for accuracy and ensures it is updated annually.
  • Serves as water patrol as needed and addresses active violations.
