Water Distribution Wastewater Collections Equipment Operator
About The Position
The City of Nicholasville Human Resources Department is accepting applications for the position of Water Distribution, Wastewater Collections Equipment Operator, grade 56. The starting rate for this position falls within the hourly rate of $25.80 to $29.65. Hiring rate determined during final step of interview process. Duties include, not limited to, operating backhoe, grader, trencher, dump truck, tanker truck, mowing equipment etc. Will also perform maintenance operator duties when not operating equipment (water and wastewater lines, etc).
Requirements
- high school degree or GED supplemented by 2 years directly related work experience
- thorough knowledge of operating characteristics, servicing requirements, and work hazards associated with equipment and tools
- ability to communicate effectively
- must possess and maintain CDL that is commensurate with grade required to operate the division's equipment as determined and issued by the Commonwealth of Ky
- must possess or obtain Water /Wastewater certification within 18 months after meeting experience requirements
- must be able to respond to calls in emergency situations at all hours
- must participate in the City's drug and alcohol testing program
