Black & Veatch has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Water Distribution System Hydraulic Engineer. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide technical and execution leadership for our water distribution hydraulic modeling and system planning projects across the United States, evaluate water systems for capacity, condition, resilience, operating efficiency, and water quality, and perform analysis and projections of water demands.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program.
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
  • Experience with technical and thought leadership surrounding water infrastructure systems.
  • Experience in client-facing roles.
  • 5+ years of water infrastructure assessment experience including hydraulic modeling, master planning, asset management, and data analysis.
  • Experience managing water system modeling and planning projects.
  • Proficient with report writing and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Capable in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Proficient with data analyses and analytics.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with transient/surge modeling and analysis.
  • Experience and/or familiarity with Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and software (i.e. ArcGIS).
  • Familiarity of dynamic data visualization software such as PowerBI.
  • Experience and/or familiarity with hydraulic modeling software such as OpenFlows Water (WaterGEMS), InfoWater Pro, EPANet, InfoSurge Pro, Hammer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and execution leadership for water distribution hydraulic modeling and system planning projects.
  • Evaluate water systems for capacity, condition, resilience, operating efficiency, and water quality.
  • Perform analysis and projections of water demands.
  • Use hydraulic modeling software to build, calibrate, and evaluate water systems for system planning and design support.
  • Use risk-based assessments to develop and prioritize capital improvement programs.
  • Integrate condition assessment and asset management data into system master planning.
  • Support marketing and business development activities by providing technical leadership during project pursuits.
