About The Position

Installs, maintains, and repairs water distribution lines within the City. Locates, troubleshoots, and repairs water mains and service lines. Installs, replaces, maintains, and/or repairs water meters and fire hydrants. Operates system relief valves, air valves, isolation valves, fire hydrants, and backflows. Operates a variety of light and heavy automotive, construction, or specialized equipment. Reports to the Water Distribution Supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma supplemented by a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a job-related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Current South Carolina Class C Water Distribution Operator License or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
• Valid South Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License.
• Valid South Carolina Driver's License.
