About The Position

The Water Damage Specialist at the intermediate level is responsible for leading a team that addresses residential and small commercial water damage losses. This role requires technical expertise in water and mold damage standards, equipment maintenance, and moisture assessment. The specialist will also assist in training entry-level technicians and support advanced technicians on larger projects, managing multiple water damage cases simultaneously.

Requirements

  • 12 months of previous experience in Basic Level Water Damage at BELFOR or equivalent experience.
  • Direct participation in at least 25 water damage projects.
  • Working knowledge of IICRC S500 Water Damage Standard.
  • Working knowledge of IICRC S520 Mold Remediation Standard.
  • Current IICRC WRT designation.
  • Familiarity with BELFOR Water Damage Book.
  • Ability to use appropriate meters and IR cameras effectively.
  • Ability to draw sketches, read floor plans, and complete moisture content logs.
  • Understanding of air mover calculations and LGR dehumidification charts.
  • Experience with truck mount extraction systems, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising small crews (up to 10 people) on various losses.

Responsibilities

  • Act as head of the water damage team for residential and small commercial losses.
  • Direct teams in the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Review daily project requirements and document progress, notifying managers of any challenges.
  • Provide field documentation, including photographic records and sketches for various TPA projects.
  • Perform daily inspections of vehicle safety and maintenance, ensuring cleanliness and operational readiness.
  • Comply with BELFOR standards to protect client property.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills and work under time constraints to meet deadlines.
  • Travel and work during nights and weekends as required.
  • Accurately report time worked and equipment used.
  • Attend BELFOR operations and necessary safety training courses.
