We are hiring throughout the Montello to Wisconsin Rapids, WI areas. The starting pay for this position is $22.00-$28.00/hr., depending on experience. Applicant should have solid experience locating / troubleshooting WE Energies facilities and using WE Navigate records. WE Energies Gas Watch & Protect Technicians are responsible for ensuring safe excavation practices are observed around critical WE Energies gas facilities. This includes taking time to thoroughly communicate with excavators regarding the critical nature of facilities they are working around and protecting the integrity of those facilities throughout the excavation process. It is also the Gas Watch & Protect Technician's responsibility to monitor excavation around facilities our customers deem as critical and to locate planning requests for WE Energies facilities only. Our "mobile office" approach to work means that you will never have the same day twice. Our WE Gas Watch & Protect Technicians work from a company vehicle utilizing our state-of-the-art ticket management systems to ensure clear and complete services have been communicated for the excavator or property owner. This position requires you to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions and use a company provided laptop and phone to document and close all tickets. There will be the potential for travel and overnight stays depending on workload. This position requires an extremely detail oriented person who is a self-starter and has a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. These are full time positions, and some overtime may be required. Instructor-led training will be provided in Sun Prairie, WI.
