Summary of the Position: The Watch Engineer will maintain and consistently improve building operations to ensure that tenants enjoy the highest quality services in commercial real estate. These building operations include, but are not limited to, maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, control systems, and their support equipment.

Requirements

  • Current Massachusetts 2nd class engineer license required.
  • Experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions.
  • Able to perform duties while working alone.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of high-rise building HVAC systems and Building management system not required but helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, and control systems.
  • Change filers, lubricate equipment, inspect equipment, and adjust belts and pulleys.
  • Check and record temperature, pressure, water flow, air flow, and chemical readings.
  • Respond to tenant service calls.
  • Perform duties required to correct emergency situations such as sewer back-ups and water infiltration. If in need of assistance, contact Chief Engineer.
  • Work on special projects as directed.
  • Patrol mechanical rooms during shift.
  • May train less experienced engineers as directed.
  • May work after hours or overtime as requested.
  • Be able to work nights, weekends, holidays.
