Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position you can expect to work three (3) days in office. For your in-office days, you can expect to work on-site at the Denver Wastewater Management Building (2000 W. 3rd Ave., Denver 80223). The anticipated work schedule for this position is 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days. Wastewater Management oversees all aspects of wastewater functions, including the construction, operation, and maintenance of the City’s sanitary and storm sewer systems, as well as administrative functions such as implementing policies, establishing cost controls and setting fees to maintain a revenue base sufficient to support operational requirements and capital improvements program, and responding to customer inquiries regarding sanitary sewer, sidewalk, and storm drainage service charges. Specifically, as the Utility Billing Specialist II, you will: Perform technical analysis of sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and sidewalk accounts for correct billing calculations based on customer requests or discrepancies identified by technicians. Conduct in-depth research to identify changes that affect billing charges, initiate inspections to correct billing problems/charges, and verify that completed inspections are accurate based upon established criteria. Determine financial adjustments on sanitary, storm drainage, and sidewalk accounts; manage delinquencies and collections, correct and prepare adjusted invoices, and generate correspondence to communicate results to customers. Determine and process customer rebate qualifications for the sidewalk and trash rebate program. Conduct detailed reviews of billing data information on customer accounts to determine accuracy. Respond to customer inquiries and explain city and agency policies, procedures, and Denver ordinances pertaining to sanitary sewer and storm drainage billing calculations. Utilize several internal billing systems, Assessor records and maps to verify ownership and parcel data, and GIS reports and aerial photography to describe to customers current and previous parcel information as it relates to parcel size, boundaries, and impervious areas. Prepare reports for title companies and assist customers with inquires related to real estate transactions.
