About The Position

This position performs skilled, semi-skilled, technical, and manual labor involving equipment preventative maintenance and process operations of wastewater treatment facilities and other utility facilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Training in water/wastewater treatment operations (or equivalent knowledge of biology, chemistry, or a related field), mechanical systems, or equipment maintenance is preferred.
• Although no experience is required, preferred candidate will have one to two years of responsible experience in wastewater operation.
• Basic knowledge of mathematic principles and computer-controlled systems is preferred.
• The successful candidate must pass the background check, post-offer City physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Treatment/Utility Operator activities includes the use of computer technology, sampling and laboratory analysis, operation of heavy equipment and vehicles, plant equipment, and field equipment.
• This position requires 12-hour rotating shift work.
• Must be willing and able to work Nights, Days, Weekends, and Holidays and respond to emergencies.
