This specific role is part of a team operating the world's first CoMag system at the Concord, MA Wastewater Treatment Facility, which uses magnets for advanced wastewater treatment to produce highly polished effluent. The position involves daily process monitoring and a comprehensive maintenance system to achieve 100% compliance. It is a full-time role responsible for the operation and general maintenance of equipment at a 1 MGD advanced wastewater treatment facility, with a primary focus on laboratory analysis, record keeping, and process control, and a secondary focus on assisting with maintenance projects and general facility and grounds maintenance.

Requirements

  • Massachusetts Grade IV or higher license, or the ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a wastewater treatment facility, operation, and maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education
  • Must live within a one hour radius of Concord, MA in order to respond to emergency call-outs
  • High School or trade school diploma is required
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, other personnel, and the general public
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • Familiarity with biological/chemical treatment processes with particular aptitude for laboratory analysis, record keeping, and facility maintenance
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment
