About The Position

As a Wastewater Treatment Engineer Technology Leader at Black & Veatch, you will function in a lead role focusing on conventional wastewater treatment processes. This includes being a subject matter expert in various treatment methodologies such as physical/chemical primary treatment, conventional activated sludge, biological nutrient removal, fixed-film processes, membrane bio-reactors (MBR), sidestream treatment, tertiary filtration, disinfection, and biosolids processing. Your expertise in resource recovery and water reuse will be highly valued as you primarily focus on growing the Eastern Tennessee market while also contributing to projects globally. In this role, you will prepare complex engineering deliverables, including process models, mass balance calculations, design criteria, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs. You will serve as a technical specialist, guiding project teams in both conventional and emerging wastewater treatment systems. Your responsibilities will also include conducting applied research, developing recommendations for treatment processes, managing project budgets and schedules, and coordinating with internal and external team members for successful project execution. You will play a key role in client engagement, identifying client interests, and developing creative solutions to meet their goals. Additionally, you will foster knowledge management by mentoring junior engineers and may assist in performance management processes. You will provide guidance on engineering standards and ensure compliance with Black & Veatch's quality program. This position requires a proactive approach to resource management and adherence to corporate policies and procedures, ensuring effective communication and implementation within your workgroup.
