About The Position

As a Wastewater Operator, you'll play a vital part in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our water treatment facilities. Here's what you'll be doing: Complying with all safety and environmental regulations to protect our communities and environment Collecting, preparing, and performing analytical laboratory testing on daily samples Adjusting treatment processes, chemical feed rates, and equipment based on lab analysis, system trends, and SOPs Maintaining meticulous records, performing data entry, and delivering standardized end-of-shift reports Monitoring and managing system performance to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency Following technical operating procedures while contributing to operational improvements Keeping all treatment facilities and equipment in pristine condition Continuously enhancing your knowledge of systems and operations

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills: You'll be a team player who collaborates effectively with others.
  • Excellent decision-making, time management, and organizational skills: You'll handle multiple priorities like a pro.
  • Mechanical aptitude: You'll have a knack for understanding and working with equipment
  • Laboratory analysis skills: You're eager to learn and perform critical lab procedures.
  • Flexibility: You're ready to adjust to variable schedules when needed.
  • Ohio EPA Class 1 wastewater operator license is preferred upon hire; must be obtained within a reasonable timeframe set by Shearers.
  • Ability to work independently with a "get-it-done" attitude.

Responsibilities
