About The Position

To supervise and coordinate wastewater operations, ensuring compliance with mandated environmental regulations and permits, current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP’s), and established company procedures. Essentia JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE : Wastewater Supervisor REPORTS TO : Plant Manager Indirect to Environmental Compliance Manager PURPOSE : Responsible for maintaining and demonstrating compliance with wastewater and applicable environmental regulations for Lytton JOB DUTIES Wastewater Management Duties: Monitor wastewater flows to the city and plant, in accordance with established company procedures and state/federal regulations. Monitor waste flows to storm drainage systems, in accordance with established company procedures and state/federal regulations. Maintain and operate all equipment and machinery associated with handling wastewater. Maintain required records required of wastewater management. Work with tenants of the grounds to ensure good farm stewardship. Environmental Compliance Duties: Responsible for management of compliance with air, water, wastewater and other applicable environmental related laws, regulations, and permits. Review pros and cons and assess risk of potential operational changes as they relate to environmental regulation exposure. Coordinate with engineering staff and environmental consultants to complete and submit applications, permits, monitoring data, and required record keeping. Other Tasks & Responsibilities: Possess proficiencies in various environmental program and effectively communicate the requirements within working groups. Knowledge of organizational methods and the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. Assisting with environmental related customer data requests. Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve. Coordinate site inspections with regulatory agencies and site staff. JOB REQUIREMENTS Operate company vehicle as required and maintain a valid driver’s license. Perform basic math calculations. Ability to read and interpret complex regulations and work with management to implement at a site level. Read and record data, legibly documenting for record keeping purposes. Implement all safety techniques and mandated sanitary rules and regulations in accordance with established policies and procedures related plant and equipment/machinery operations. Remain calm and professional at all times. Understand and communicate information through use of written documentation or oral presentation. Interpret and work from oral and written instructions. Cooperate and work respectfully with all team members. BASIC MENTAL REQUIREMENTS WORKING CONDITIONS AND EXPOSURES The working conditions for this job vary; a portion of the job duties occur in an indoor environment; however, some outside work with varying seasonal temperatures. The working conditions include but are not limited to exposure to chemicals, moving machinery and equipment, and high noise levels. Completion of Iowa DNR wastewater operator certification 1. 2+ years’ experience required serving as wastewater operator, environmental compliance person, EHS coordinator, or program specialist Experience: Experience with wastewater and environmental regulation required. Experience engaging with regulatory agencies review and permitting.
