About The Position

The Wastewater Superintendent at Pilgrim's is responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal wastewater regulations. This role involves overseeing the chemical inventory, maintaining wastewater treatment facilities, and participating in safety teams. The superintendent will also supervise emergency repairs and ensure efficient plant operations while supporting continuous improvement processes.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years related experience, including supervision.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift/climb as needed.
• Ability to work weekends and overtime as required.
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• TCEQ Wastewater Treatment Certification, Class 'CC' Wastewater Certification.

Responsibilities

• Obey all safety, USDA, HACCP, and plant rules and regulations.
• Collect samples for outside lab as necessary.
• Run in-house lab tests such as pH, COD, Ammonia, TSS, and log results.
• Check D.O. at assigned monitoring points every two hours or as required.
• Calibrate and maintain daily logs on lab equipment.
• Manage employee performance and provide training for quality achievement.
• Maintain company standards for safety and policies.
• Create and maintain outstanding employee relations and manage Shift Supervisors' performance.
• Investigate areas for quality improvement and cost reductions, implementing improvements using the CIP process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
