About The Position

The Wastewater Project Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the seamless operations of wastewater treatment facilities. This multifaceted leadership position demands a strong focus on regulatory compliance, budget management, personnel oversight, and client relations. Requirements

  • Must hold a Massachusetts Wastewater Operator Certification. Preference will be given to applicants who possess a Massachusetts Grade 6 Certification.
  • Prior experience in a wastewater treatment facility with strong knowledge of treatment processes and regulatory compliance.
  • At least five years of project management and team leadership experience preferred.
  • Valid state driver’s license with a record of responsible driving.
  • Strong professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • General computer proficiency and the ability to learn technical systems; familiarity with CMMS is a plus.
  • Candidates will be subject to background screening and motor vehicle record checks as part of the hiring process.
  • Ability to speak and hear: 4-8 hours/day.
  • Walking, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling: 4-8 hours/day.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle, touch, and reach: 4-8 hours/day.
  • Climb stairs and/or ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and sit.
  • Regularly lift and carry materials weighing 10–25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Operate gasoline, diesel, or gas-powered equipment and hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to maintain seamless operations.
  • Create and enforce sampling schedules and compliance protocols.
  • Input and monitor logbooks and data systems, resolving anomalies promptly.
  • Respond to on-call emergencies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports, adhering to compliance guidelines.
  • Attend regulatory walkthrough inspections.
  • Oversee procurement of supplies and consumables to ensure timely, cost-effective purchasing and inventory.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and organization, and groundskeeping tasks.
  • As needed, conduct water and wastewater tests, perform lab tests, and collect regulatory samples and meter readings.
  • Maintain assigned vehicle and follow policies regarding vehicle operation and safety.
  • Ensure safety compliance and proactively address safety concerns.
  • Address employee concerns while upholding policy and confidentiality. Implement disciplinary actions, as needed.
  • Lead and manage staff performance and resource allocation.
  • Develop employee work schedules and support payroll processing.
  • Assess candidate qualifications and cultural fit to support hiring decisions.
  • Foster strong client relationships and ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Participate in management discussions as needed, contributing strategic input to support organizational decision-making.
  • Develop and manage budgets for clients to meet financial goals.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the overall operations and objectives of the organization.
