About The Position

We are seeking a Wastewater Plant Technician. The position operates sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in a wastewater treatment plant to control the flow and processing of sewage. The shift is from Tuesday to Saturday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with training hours during the day from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Mechanical skills are highly preferred. Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D (accredited).
• No prior work experience required.

• Mechanical skills highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of sewage.
• Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings and test results to determine load requirements.
• Starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of raw sewage through filtering, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processes.
• Maintains log of operations and records meter and gauge readings.
• Collects sewage samples and conducts laboratory tests.
• Operates and maintains power generating equipment to provide steam and electricity for the plant.
