About The Position

As a Wastewater Plant Operator I, you spend your day operating and maintaining essential equipment, troubleshooting issues, taking wastewater samples and tests, ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the building and grounds at the Wastewater Plant. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. When you are not out in the city, you generally participate in aiding knowledge of wastewater treatment operations, lab operations, wastewater sampling and recoding of results. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you!

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalency
  • No experience required
  • Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
  • Achieve TCEQ Class "D" Wastewater Collection License within (1) first year of employment.
  • Achieve TCEQ Class "C" Wastewater Collection License within (3) three years of employment.
  • Achieve TCEQ Class "B" Wastewater Collection License within (5) five years of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Community college, vocational business, technical, or correspondence school certificates are likely sources.
  • Preferred Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
